While breakfast is 110% the best part of (and best start to) any day, it’s nice to have a little something extra to warm us up from the inside out. And what better way to start this chilly fall weekend than with a few classic and très simple drinks…
- Cinnamon tea with vanilla soy milk – this is a treat for these October mornings. Steep a strong cinnamon tea for four to five minutes, adding three tablespoons of vanilla soy milk for a sweet (and slightly spicy) morning.
- Black coffee with cocoa powder – for those of you who can’t live without caffeine, try mixing in a tablespoon of cocoa powder per cup of joe. You’re still getting the usual, but now your sweet tooth can get some, too!
- Golden milk – this recipe is taken from Fresh Bites Daily, and it is nothing short of amazing. Heat up a cup of milk (any kind) in a small saucepan or microwave, adding half a teaspoon of turmeric, ginger, and a sprinkle of pepper. Let it really heat up, then transfer it to a mug and let the drink cool for five minutes or so. Add honey to taste, et voila! You’re boosting your immune system and getting major nutrients for your day.
Mix it up and add your own twist to these drinks – don’t let your energy levels drop alongside the temperature!
